I need an easy to use but flexible photo editing software. Or a card building software with photo editing built into it..

My folks are celebrating their 50th anniv, and I have some projects i'd like to do with their old wedding photos.. and maybe some type of invitation.

I'd like the software to be able to do a collage and soften the edges of a photo.

I can't afford $650 for PhotoShop.. so i'm looking at a under $100 price range.

any suggestions would be helpful.

Photoshop Elements. Super powerful, super easy, super cheap. I think it is $49 now. Check Wal-Mart - Ive seen it there

Another vote for Photoshop Elements. Here is a very good link to a review and a feature set list of all the major programs out there now:

If you want to go the legal route and not get a pirated copy of photoshop (can link you to a website if you really want ;) ) give The GIMP a shot. It's basically photoshop but with some twists as to how you do things. It might take a little while getting used to it but you can do an amazing amount of stuff with it considering it's free.

Yeah, give Elements a whirl. Should have plenty enough for what you want to do.

I have PS CS2 and love it. I hope the CS3 upgrade coming down the pike has alot of goodies.

Sid, be careful on posting "free" software and giving it away.

another vote for PSE. I bought it a couple weeks back and really like it alot. Its very easy to use, but not so much so that you can't do more complicated editing. Well worth the money I spent on it. I have used CS2 and since I'm not a PS guru, I actually prefer elements since its easier to use for simple common tasks.
