The Kenwood is ok at best,
I heard it go several times and for the money it's nice.It has alot of cool features and sounds kinda warm, better then most Kenwood receivers of past.there flagship receiver is built well. The touchscreen remote they built is nice as well, you set the entire receiver without a on screen display, weird but effective. It also upconverts all video comming in to componet.Nice, I like that only one video feed to your montior.
Kenwood has come a long way, but not my cup of tea.

THX Cert is fluff.
Look at brands like Arcam, NAD, etc. They are about the same price, but offer better performance and sound. Go to the nearest audiopohile store, they do have things for the "normal people" that don't have an extended budget.
