I keep getting errors on the CD side of Diana Krall "Girl in the Other Room". My Onkyo CD player won't play it and my computer plays it but with lots of cutting out gaps. The DVD side works perfectly. This is my second attempt. I returned the 1st one due to the same problem. I'm getting the CD's from My Music.com.

Do other people have this problem too? The only thing I can think of is to return it again and get just the CD version instead of the Dual Disk version.:(

I can play both sides fine. Must be a defect specific to your disk.

some players don't like dual disc non-standard thickness. I don't know about Onkyo:

clean the CD player with a CD player laser lens disc. then clean your computer drive with the same cleaner disc.. then check the dual disc for smudges and scratches.. then if that doesn't fix it.. it's the incompatibility of the CD side of dual disc's. it states on the jewel case of all dual discs. may not be compatible with some CD and DVD players due to the non standard configuration of those discs.

Thanks for the Heads Up and the reference to a previous thread on this problem. I won't buy these again. Lucky the cd works in my Tacoma.

I'm gonna try ripping it using EAC to see if that will help.

Onkyo has become aware that some pre-recorded hybrid discs -- which are referred to as “DualDisc” -- have been released in the market to consumers by some music companies and record labels. These hybrid discs appear to be a bonded combination of DVD on one side of the disc and non-DVD (which may incorrectly be referred to as a CD side) on the other side. Onkyo understands that, although these discs may refer to a CD side, the “non-DVD” side is not compliant with the Compact Disc Digital Audio specification due to its decreased thickness and therefore does not bear the CD logo.

Onkyo recommends that consumers not use “DualDisc” titles with any Onkyo products, including CD players, CD Recorders and DVD players. Until Onkyo has an opportunity to test the new commercially available hybrid discs, Onkyo does not know whether Onkyo products can safely handle these new hybrid discs, or whether these discs may damage your Onkyo products.

Onkyo U.S.A. will update this notice based as soon as our thorough investigation is completed.

Dual Disc is Dead, long live SACD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You need to buy these, get the Hybrid so they play in all your players without a problem, you can get some at yourmusic.com, you should buy an SACD player.

Ditto that! There are a lot of inexpensive universal players out there for less than $200. Some will play Dual Disc, SACD, DVD-A, MPEG, WAVE, MP3, DTS, Dolby Digital, etc. I liked the Pioneer DV-588A, This player goes for just over $100.
