My local dealer sold my PSW505 sub and offered PSW1000 sub for just a little more $$. The deal was so good I couldn’t refuse. With the dual 10” drivers this sub actually gives a pretty decent punch. High gloss piano and cherry finish is nice looking too.

Just thought I would share this with you. Here is couple of pics for those of you interested.

Cheers

Looks good, I've been thinking about getting one of these for my cherry 15's, give it some more break in time and give us a detail review, would be interested.

At least the PSW1000 has the looks! Let us know what you think of it. What was it replacing?

It replaced Polk PSW505. I got really really good deal on it that is why I took it. Ultimately will go with SVS, but for now this upgrade is cool.

Very impressed so far. The bass is very tight and has a very good punch to it. The PSW505 is a nice sub for the $$ but, in comparison with PSW1000 sounded too boomy and dull. I would say PSW505 is OK for movies and not so good for music IMO. The PSW1000 is awesome musically.

I understand Polk design PSW1000 to be used with LSi series speakers. I have all around RTi's and the sub blends in seamlessly. The controls on front of the sub for Volume Control, Low Pass Adjustment and the 3dB Bass Boost Toggle Switch are very convenient too.

The PSW1000 is so loud, crisp and clean and I have no need to use the 3dB Bass Boost circuit at all. So far I have auditioned various movies and my favorite music and this sub is a champ. Goes down to 20Hz and no distortion at all.

I do agree sub will be even better after break in for a few hours.

Cheers

I love how that sub looks. I would love one in ebony t go with the LSi's in my theater. From what I hear, they perform very well, but they get bested by SVS in the deepest of frequencies (sub 20's) they do look great though.

Why would Polk make a dual driver sub and Not make it acoustic suspension?
It seems that a dual push-pull would be better.

What say you?

Good luck keeping that thing clean! You'll have to dust it at least every second day...

No kidding about dusting this brute. The high piano gloss finish attracts a lot of dust and fine lint floating through out the air. The way I manage this problem I use a small “Sweefer” duster. You know the one with the handle………….hehehehe :D

Yeah I use a little handheld swiffer as well on my LSi's... it works perfectly for the daily dusting
