*Jumps for joy* (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9736865298&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

They should sound a heck of a lot better now... I'll be using the Luxman M-115 as a pre.

You should be very happy. Not to rain on your parade, but did you notice the 1 input on the back is broken. The outer portion (goldplated capsule) is missing. Perhaps you knew that, if not I'd mention it to the seller now. I read thru his description (quickly) didn't seem to mention it.

I think you'll be amazed at the sonic improvements with the Giant Killer amp.

I didn't notice that, heiney. Thanks for pointing it out. It's an easy fix, and telling the seller about it won't accomplish anything, as it is pictured in the auction. They state you will receive the exact item as pictured...

Thanks again, though!

You're right it's an easy fix. I'd still mention it to the seller as it's misleading to say it in good condition and works fine, when clearly it can't. It should have been disclosed in the print. Pictures really don't count, unless it's described in print and the photo shows what has been described.

I'd just tell him (the auction company) very nicely and if he doesn't offer to do something about it, that you will have to mention it in the feedback that the item was not as described.

Nevertheless, you purchased a great amp and got a pretty good deal too. What is he charging for shipping? This is one area for these auction houses to make money. Just curious.

Enjoy, when it gets fixed you'll love the improvement

Say something about it. It could be he didn't notice it or forgot when he made the ad. He may mark the price down a little. Most good sellers do that if you paid a reasonable price for the item.

It probably did work fine. I'd also bet the sleeve is still in the last pair of RCA's he connected to it. Those jacks are notorious for staying 'in' the RCA plug.

Get a couple Cardas input jacks, and remove the old plastic input, it's all one peice - you'll see when you get the lid off. Had to do that to a 545 once.

Cheers,
Russ

Nadams- for the cost of shipping + the bid price you probably could've bought the one Russ is advertising in the FM. And you know that one is A-1 condition. :).

The Cardas will be better anyways.

heiney- I tried to buy the one russ had in the flea mkt, but it's already sold. The final price on the one from ebay was $145.49, so I didn't pay that much more.
