I ordered one from Best Buy on Saturday - they were offering a 1 day special of $1499. The only problem is that there were none in stock at any of the local stores. I had to schedule delivery (free delivery too!), but the first available date was 6/26.

Me being an impatient little _____, this 2 week wait is driving me nuts.

This will be my first HD flat panel - my current TV is a JVC AV-32950. It's a great TV for an 8 year old unit, but falls a little short in the technology department. No flat screen, and only RF, composite and S-video inputs.

I did some searching, and the LVM-42w2 generally gets very good reviews, so after a year+ of looking, I decided to drop the hammer. Saw some posts here about the 37inch TV - but does anyone have the 42", and can you give me any setup pointers?

Here is a link to the manufacturer's site:

Thanx in advance!

I saw a list, just recently, of the top 10 flat panel lcds and Westinghouse was right in the middle somewhere...like 4th. I've been eyeing them for a while now.
Let us know what ya think. Congrats.

I have the 42" - fantastic HD picture. Make sure you give it a good source. Comcast HD at 1080i over DVI looks awesome. I also have a Samsung 841 at 720P over DVI that makes DVD's look great. SD TV looks blah but watchable. The only beef I have with it is a lack of enough scaling/fill modes - there is just one.

Thanx for the replies.

I just upgraded my cable TV to HD - I should receive the box Tues/Wed. I also have a Sony DVP-NS975V dvd player that I was going to sell like a year ago - but I decided to hold onto. It upconverts to 720p or 1080i.

I built a PC to rip my CD collection to, so I'm gonna hook that up to the VGA port at 1920x1080 as well. Been thinking about making this a full blown HTPC with dual tuners and DVR - any excuse to waste more money I dont have.

Plus I just ordered tha cables I need from bluejeanscable.com.

Should I get this monitor professionally calibrated - or will picking up an AVIA DVD be good enough?
