My kid sucked my 4 ohm FM antenna wire into the vacuum cleaner. Problem is I cant find these things anywhere. I contacted the manufacter about a replacement that they can send for about 15 buck.

Stores like CC and best buys only carry powered. Does anyone have experience with powered FM antennas? Are the worth it?

Do you think the wire is damaged? If not, open the bag, fish it out, dust it off and connect it.

Yup, tore in half and wrapped around the wheel.

You could make a new "Antenna" with 300 ohm antenna down lead. Just need to split one end so each wire so it looks like the old one. You would need to search google or something for the correct lengths of the wire ends, as this needs to be "Tuned" for FM frequency.

Not really off topic... Bought a 42" Panasonic Plasma for $2200 then paid for $399 for HD TiVo DirecTV recorder. My wife doesn't even know about that yet Tuesday is "D" day for me, it's when I'll be a work delivery due in the afternoon. I be home a 8:30pm or so work 12noon till 8pm, my wifes home at 4:45pm or so, it will be at the front door. Worst yet it will need a signature my neighbor will sign for it then see my wife home run over with package then she doesn't know it coming...... I'm screwed.

I get all my FM chs this way. The station setting are not the same so if you are use to having say 107.5 as XYZ station, it may be 109 for example.

Wow, that's really interesting. You mean, you have the regular cable coax, coming out from the floor, hooked to the back of your receiver for reception? That's....intersting. I just may have to try it out.

it's comes out from the wall where my tv cable is from, from there to a splitter, one to my HD box and one to the back of my receiver.

If you have Sat, not sure if this works. But good ole cable works up here in the great white north...which is green now !;)
