I am currently looking to set up a 7.1 channel system. What i have to work with is a pair of RT1000i, a CS400i center and a pair RT55i. My biggest question is what surrounds would be the best tember match for the older RT series speakers. I have been looking for the old F/X500i or F/X1000i surrounds but havent had any luck. Is there a newer current surround that will match exactly or as exact as possible with the RT series speakers i have. Also i was wandering what would be the best setup with my speakers. I am trying to decide if i should use the RT55i's or the RT1000i's as my rear center channels just throwin that out for opions as i will prob try both and see which sounds the best. mostly im lookin for a good surround speaker.

Patience. 500's and 1000's will both pop up, just keep watching ebay / audiogon.

If you want to go ahead and get it setup and running, bag some 25's or 35's and rotate them to another rig when your multipole speakers show.

Cheers,
Russ

First, let's see if you'll benefit with a 7.1 setup. More speakers does not necessarily mean better sound.

What is your room size? How far is the seating position from the back wall?

too many speakers in a confined area is bad.
I have some fx500's listed in our f/m for local sale.
