Ordered the SVS PB10-NSD Sub

I hope I didn't make a mistake ordering this sub. From what I have read here and around it should be adequate for my HT area. The area is about 3300 cubic feet. I will use it mainly for movies and about 30% music. I plan on placing her in the corner like a bad child:)

Would it be ok to plug the AC of the Sub into the AC outlet on the receiver? I probably won't do this but just wanted to find out if it was exceptable though my gut is saying noway.

I have the Radio Shack SPL meter and will re-calibrate using it. I also plan on setting the mains, center and surrounds to small and the sub xrossover to 80. Am I missing anything or do any of you have any suggestions plz chime in?

I'm sure this is going to be much better than the Sony I'm currently using which covers only the frequencey of 50-200:(

Congrats on a great sub purchase. It should be very adequate for your system.

I wouldn't plug it into the receiver.

I'm sure the nsd driver will be every bit as good (if not better) than the isd driver. I own the pb10 isd and love the sub. If, for any reason, you have the urge to upgrade you can always buy a 2nd one, or if you want to sell and get a larger driver, they seem to hold their value very well.

Just plug the sub into the wall outlet and call it good. You could get yourself a good current surge protector , but I would avoid plugging it into your reciever.
