I'm in the process of installing my birthday present to myself, new LSi15 fronts in cherry and a LSiC center. I have to place the center on top of my 40" Sony XBR tv, which is 53 inches above the floor. Will I have any problems turning the center upsidedown to bring the tweeter closer to ear level? Also, is there any problem with reversing the left and right LSi15's? TIA for any help or information.

We have a rule breaker in the house..............you probably run with scissors too, huh.;)
I would tilt the center down, instead of flipping it, and I would run the L/R the way Polk designed it to keep the tweeter in its designed listening path. Alot of tweaking is needed to get room placement with the 15s just right, but fliping the speakers positions is a little extreme.

Thanks for your reply Dennis, I flipped my LSi Center just to try it in that position and if it su**'s. I can always reverse it. Re the swap of the LSi15's, I have my TV and speakers in the corner of the room and one would be firing into the side wall if I placed them per Polk Part of the fun in life is to color outside of the lines and see what happens !!!!! ( running w/ scissors-no way- charging w/ a fixed bayonet-in an earlier life.) I'm looking forward to adjusting and tweaking the system with my new speakers and I wiil try to tilt the center down based on your advice . Thanks again.

Sounds like a less than ideal setup for the polks. They need some breathing room to sound there best.
Your very high end(10k+ hz) will really suffer if they're off axis too much. The Vifa driver's can be annoying sometimes that way, so keep it as polk describes.
Can you re-arrange your room at all?

My monster Sony tv (350lbs w/stand) has to be placed in the corner so I'm stuck with setting the LSi15 fronts next to it. I had the RTi4 speakers on stands in the same location and they sounded pretty good. I want to eventually buy a flat screen tv to replace the Sony, and wall mount it. This would give me some lattitude in placing the speakers. This might work- "Honey we HAVE to buy a new SED flatscreen tv because I can't get my new speakers to sound right with that big old ugly Sony in the way." Not.

Well Sony does have 12 months no interest or payments. :)
Just think, the new SXRD's and XBR's are right around the corner. ;)

I just finished installing the new LSi15 fronts and LSiC center -they made a huge improvement over the RTi4 and CSi3 speakers that they replaced. I tried the center in the normal posistion and flipped- I couldn't hear any difference so I left it flipped and reversed the grille. This let me run the new Signal Cable bi-wire on the left side which helps hide it.
A huge bonus- The cherry finish on the 15's matches my Wife's antique drop front desk-leading to the comment" When can we get rid of those other ugly black boxes and get some more of these new ones?" - Gee Honey, I'll do my best to change those black RTi surrounds out as soon as I can.---HEE,
HEE!

I was looking at my LSi's last night and came up with a question I cannot figure out. Why do my 9's have the tweeters towards the inside but the center puts the tweeter towards the top instead of the bottom?

After nearly four decades of marriage and raising our daughters I think I'll keep her. I'm also very carefull not to get her too po'd- she was a service brat and the old gunny's taught her how to shoot her dad's Gold Cup Colt better than I can! I was really surprised by how much she liked the LSi15's-We spent some time listening to some cd's of Sousa's marches and the Telarc 1812 sacd in surround today and the sound really impressed both of us. I played everything over DL3 from the Denon 3910 to my 3805 .which I'm using as a pre/pro, and I think the new speakers sound as good as they can having to place them next to the tv in the corner.

Toxis, I thought the same thing. My CSi3 is flippable(new word?) and I have read about others using LSiC's vertically on stands as mains. I think that it probably makes no difference unless there are internal baffles or an asymetrical dispersion pattern in the tweeter. But WTH, if I'm wrong Polk will probably send out a hit squad and disappear me!!!
