Which Polk speakers for my Yamaha receiver??

Hi All.

Please can somebody help me with a difficult choice.

Im buying a Yamaha RXV 659 7.1 receiver and was offered:

2x Monitor 50s.
2x Monitor 30s.
Cs 1.
PSW 10.

For this receiver should I upgrade the Monitor 50s to 60s?
and the CS 1 to a CS 2 and the PSW 10 to a PSW 12?

Would this be a correct set up with the amp?

I had a pair of Mourdunt Short speakers since 1990 and now decided to change to Polk Audio after an amazing demo at the shop. I came home and started reading up about the speakers and noticed on some sites they reccomend the upgrade.

I use my computer as my entertainment "hub" ,tv card,dvd player,etc etc and its connected to my Benq projector,so all I need to complete my system is my amp and speakers. Im using a Nvidea Geforce 6600 graphics card. Should that be changed?

Im ready to walk out the door to purchase my Amp and Polk Audio speakers and looking forward to a joyful experience to come!!!!!!!

Keep the center, Upgrade the sub and the fronts to the 60s.

You never said if you had a budget or not, so I'll tell you the set-up I'm going for. Monitor 70's for fronts, CS 2 for center, Monitor 40's for surrounds. The sub is totally up to you my friend. I see you're thinking about the PSW10. I think you're like me in wanting to keep your system all Polk. But trust me, the sub doesn't have to be Polk. Every other speaker but the sub. Now the PSW10 is 100 watts @35 Hz. That's poor dude, really. It's not about the total wattage, it's about how clean the signal is. Now I have a Velodyne which they make bad ass subs, but if I was you "trying" to keep a budget I'd get a SVS pb-10nsd, 300 watts @20 Hz possibly down to 18 Hz which is really good, especially on a computer. I'm trading in my velodyne (195 watts @29 Hz) for the same SVS sub. And I'm running all mine on a HT

The CS1 will do you fine, the 60's will be a noticeable improvement, and the Polk subs are ..... well ...... ahem......they're okay, but subs aren't Polks strongest forte.

The daughter and s-i-l are running 30's front, CS1 center, and R15's for side and back surrounds. And an Athena AS-P4000 sub (:) ). In their basement rumpus room ( or whatever you want to call it ), very nice HT.
For the size and price, those R15's are quite amazing.
