I just purchased the Von Schweikert VR-S/1 (http://www.vonschweikert.com/vrs1.html) to try it out as a second sub in my system. I got this one because of the size of it as I intend to try it out behind the FL speaker as it is pretty tiny. Do you guys think I can integrate it ok? I do have the Velodyne SMS-1 which can calibrate 2 subs.

Ha! No....I don't think the Von Schweikert is exactly in that league:p I just wanted to fill out the bass a little more on the left of the room. You think they will work out ok together?
ALLTHOUGH......if I really really like it I might consider a second VR - S/1 and sell the SVS. I can't imagine that the VS will hit as hard or low though.

I think you should of gotten another SVS, just a lil smaller one...

The VS is the only one that will fit in the space it is only 11" X 15". Teesny weensy.

Faster, you are the only one here who has seen and heard my set up (although briefly). What do you think of the second little Von in the left corner?

Certainly not needed, aside from it being a match to the rest of the lineup you have.. and the stories i hear of trying to intergrate another matching sub much less from another company. I know it can be done and with good sucess but for the room size as well, id say either keep the svs and the HT as is because it sounds fantastic!! Or get the biggest von sub for your current speakers to match.. I myself like all matching, however polks best sub isnt enough for me and so i'll choose another SVS>> hope this helps

Thanks Faster. I guess I will find out this week if I like it or not with the SVS.

Im really looking forward to your take on the hi speed and the ability to us it to help with the localization problem, do you still have the locallization prob?. mine still gives me a little trouble and a well intergrated small, fast sub might be something I could use.

I don't have the localization problem so much where others would notice it, I think....but I do. I can still tell that the bass is weighted to the right of the stage somewhat and would like to round that out.

I know what you mean. sometimes I can live with it but it bothers me so, adding a smaller faster woofer located more centered might help. keep us informed.

I got it today and hooked it up. I tried it a variety of places and got the flattest response so far- according to my Velodyne SMS-1 -just to the left of my sofa. Putting it to the front left gave me a wicked peak at 80, well above my 60 crossover.
It seems to be just what the doctor ordered. It's a fantastic little sub. I won't pretend that it hits as hard as my Monster SVS (and ideally it would be better just to have another PB 12 Ultra/2 but neither my room nor my budget allows for that) but it goes loooow with repectful authority for such a tiny little thing. Havin' fun:D

I put in Fast and Furious 2 (sucky movie but great demo:) ) and the bass was full. Really nice. My room sucks but I think that two subs is the way to go for sure. It always bothered me that I could locate the sub- even EQ'd with the SMS-now mama likes.:D

He he...well you could always buy the Analysis Plus Cables I have..they sound really nice with the 15s.....of course I don't think you could justify the drive for them.:D
