Well it seems by some work of God that my store will now be taking orders for a 71" LG plasma, and by some stroke of greater luck I can sell it. So in a shot in the dark attempt I figured I'd post it here.

The 71" LG is a full 1080p set, and is available for special order from LG. If you purchase LG will not only ship it to your front door but will also send a technican out to hook it up for you. A flight to Las Vegas to purchase the unit from my authorized LG dealer (don't be fooled by online stores) will be required but in exchange you will receive an additional $1000 savings + the $300 pedestal.

As for the specs:

Some people just have to much money to waste on things, of course its relative as people I know think I waste alot of coins on gear. Oh well, I suppose the lessons learned in building a set this size will eventually help all of electronics land.

I'll take 2. The kid's room could use a good tv for video games. I'll keep the second for a spare in case this one has issues.

Hey now, I'm not posting the stores entire inventory for sale. It's an exotic thing to buy, and people with the money enjoy having things that most others won't. I only posted it because I thought it would draw interest, even from people who aren't going to buy it.

Of course if someone actually wants it, I have it for them.

Panasonic is supposed to have a 65" 1080p plasma out at the end of this year for around $10k MSRP I believe. Its been available in Japan for over a year now.

$68k for 71" seems too high...

LG has a 60" plasma that retails for under 10k. But on the high side, samsung has a 100" plasma that goes for a cool 100k. Personally, anyone who'd spend that kind of money on a TV is obviously unaware of what they're buying.

They're buying temporary bragging rights, and then we'll all own one. Eventually. :D

I thought it was 6,800. 71" is not big enough to lead for long.
