View Full Version : Broken db6500 tweeter?
Got a set of db6500s about a week ago. They've worked fine until today, when one of the tweeters started making a rattling or buzzing sort of noise that went with the bass in the music. It happens unless the stereo is put at a pretty low volume. I looked at the speaker while it buzzed, and noticed that you could see that membrane thing under the grill vibrating profusely when it makes the buzzing noise.
Is there anyway to fix this, and what could have caused it?

Sounds like it's time to get some warranty work on it. I do not see a way for you to fix it.
Did you buy them from an authorized dealer? Are you using the supplied crossover with the set?
I bought them at circuit city, so I suppose that would be an authorized dealer. And yes, I am using the supplied crossovers.

You are covered then.
Cool, that's a relief. Any idea on what could have caused it? Would like to try to avoid this problem again in the future.
