Received this as free gift from Tom (LSI9) with a recent speaker purchase... Popped it in the player today, and sat down to experience it.

Let me say this, the plot (What you could understand of it) was simply first rate! Actually, I'm not sure exactly what I was watching. :D It was rather convoluted and jumped all over, but was extremely touching, terrific acting, and even on my simply tv the colors were outstanding!

It was a twisty love story about a guy who had (possibly) attained eternal life, and was using it to be with his woman. The details are rather fuzzy how it all fit together, but in all honesty, I didn't really care. I was touched, and it made me want to hold those important in my life a little closer.

I highly recommend the flick... it will make you scratch your head and ponder it, but I felt completely intrigued by it as well. (See, it's got me in circular thinking already...)

A very solid A in my book. Glad to have it, Tom, thanks a million!

Bought the Blu-ray and love it. Fantastic film. This one makes you think long after it's over, that in my book is a good film.

I started watching this late Thursdsay night, then finished it up over the weekend.

I think I liked it, but can't say I got much closure from it. Still kind of lost. Not interested enough to even ask a bunch of questions here. I give it a 7.0 out of 10. Maybe I needed to watch it again all the way through instead of falling asleep and then picking up where i left off.

There are 3 time lines of the story that each have their own meanings and sybolic gestures, yet they all tie into one another.

The Myan/Spanish quest in the 1600's.
The current day research scientist.
Then the same guy year in 2500, in his bubble space ship.

The bubble has many meanings: purity, structure, etc...he travels with the tree, which grew from the seed he planted over her grave. This seed was from the same tree he found reversed the aging process. He was seen eating the tree, extending his own life as he traveled to the Myan underworld in the nebulae.

There are many symbolic themes in this movie, as well as conflict. Starting with man vs. creation, man vs. religeon and country.

In modern time: Man vs. science and atheism.

The future man: man vs. self, acceptance and spirituality.

In my opinion, this film was one of the best of last year. Because of its genre and depth, 99% of the people who see it will not like or understand it. A second viewing may help if interested. It is a very heartfelt and well written script.
