One of those familiar faces on TV and in movies, but also an Oscar and Tony Award-nominated actor as well.

Asian-American actor Mako passed away (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060725/ap_en_mo/obit_mako;_ylt=AovFaBKDKI7.gkrEmF1BSuFxFb8C;_ylu=X 3oDMTA0cDJlYmhvBHNlYwM-)

He was fabulous in the Sand Pebbles. One of my favorite films.

Here's a photo and a bio (http://www.dougmacaulay.com/kingspud/sel_by_actor_index_2.php?actor_first=&actor_last=Mako). I read that right before his passing, he was cast as the voice of ninja sensei Splinter, the giant mutagen-grown rat in a CGI updating of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

He did a lot of guest appearances on TV shows in the 60's and 70's and he was in one of my favorite movies "Tucker the Man and his Dream". I was aware of his work and sad to here of his passing, he was a very good actor.
