The color looks awful, reddish and fuzzy. I bought it back in 1993 from Silo (remember that chain? perhaps it was more of a West Coast chain). Am I about to chuck out a TV or a tube replacement still make sense (cost-wise)?

Is it the end of it or a failing component issue? what is the typical life for a Sony trinitron tube such as this?

Thanks, folks!

I think it's almost a forgone conclusion.

SXRD, here I come (once the coin jar is full)...

:) Are there any tall buildings around you to dispose of it David Letterman style?

that would be like dropping it off from the 27th floor? :)

it would definitely be lethal, since you know all XBRs weigh double its counterpart..

Defiantly time to upgrade! I am waiting for my XBR to fail so I can get a new one approved by the financial controller. However it's only 5 years old so I have about 8 years to go. :(
