... of The Monkees.
Hey, hey, it's The Monkees' 40th anniversary! The band formed in 1966 when Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, and Peter Tork were picked out of a mass casting call to portray a band on a zany TV sit-com designed to mimic the madcap spirit of The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night. Rhino has been home to The Monkees for nearly half of their four decades, so it's only natural for us to revisit their '66 debut and '67 follow-up with remastered and expanded reissues (the band's first two releases combined for a total of 31 weeks at #1 on the Billboard album chart and helped the group sell more than 16 million albums between 1966 and 1968 -- more than the Fab Four and The Rolling Stones combined).

Other than a few choice songs, does anyone find them as friggin annoying as do? That t.v. show really annoyed me. Only Andy Griffith could be more good two shoed....

I am sure there is an LP of them in a box somewhere. My little guy will get it and maybe 20 years from now it may be worth something. Hey, I like the AG shows. Barney always made me laugh.
