As a UNCG alumnus, I'm not surprised. Lots of college campuses across the country have very strange courses.

On the bright side, most kids grow up learning a lot from the boob tube, so why not use television as a learning tool at the college level? Some televisions shows are thoroughly researched with lots of social commentary. I could definitely see "The Wire" being used as an excellent learning tool. I've never watched Buffy, so I don't know about that one.

I thought the Duke/UK rivalry was bad:eek:

We had our fair share of "strange" courses at my college, but a lot of them ended up being more insightful (and dare I say -- useful) than a number of more traditional classes.

UK???? are you kidding me? That's not a rivalry- you need to get your ass down here for a UNC/Duke match up... then you'll know what rivalry is.
