Hey all...lately i've been getting more particular about two channel listening since i added my Rotel RB1070 to the mix. I Don't want to completely get rid of my h/t setup. I currently use a Denon 3805 as pre/pro to the Rotel amp to Monitor 70's.
I have been reading alot on the Arcam avr's and have found rave reviews about their musical abilities. I have the opportunity to snag an Avr100 for a decent price (would have to sell the Denon). Anyone here had experience with this reciever and Polk speakers? Am i possibly getting as much from my 70's already with the Denon and would not notice much improvement?
Any input would be much appreciated as i have nowhere to demo anything nearby.
Also, if i did this switch i would have a little left over to possibly pick up a better source. I have found a modified toshiba 3960 for cheap. I have heard a few on here say that this is a decent player but never heard talk about one being modded. I looks like the mods were done to upgrade the two channel analog as there are gold plated rca plugs as well as some interior upgrades as well. Keeping in mind that i only have room for one player i have to try to find something that does audio and video decently.

I have an experience with Arcam, it may not directly related to your request, but I thought I share. I was in a music store "Gramophone" in Singapore, looking for CDs. The store has a simple setup 2 channel setup in the front, and it produces such a wonderful music, that is unbelievaly natural sounding and balance. Bass was more than adequate, top-end was very natural, on female jazz vocal. The system is consist of an Arcam CD Player, an Arcam A65 integrated, and an older version of B&W 602 (I think).

I don't really have any experience with Arcam products, but listening to the system, I can't stop thinking about how critical system synergy is.

Next time around, I will definitely check out Arcam's synergy and blending ability with Polk LSis.

Why the Arcam and not the Music Hall CD25.2 for $100 less:confused: ? The MH has received some very good reviews from the snobs at TAS Sally and HP.

Why not add a pre amp to improve 2 channel listening, removing AVR for this mode?
