Is this sub designed to work Infinite Baffle? I really don't want to hang a box under my rear deck and want to go IB. If this doesn't work, I'll have to go with an IDMAX10. I really want to keep it in the family if possible... Thom, what do you think?

IB setups are SQ only setups.

With IB the sub wont handle as much power as it normally would so forget about maximum SPL but the SQ will be just fine. There are several SQ competitors out there running IB and doing quite well.

One thing tho, larger subs are usually better for IB because they can reproduce the lower frequencies easier than a smaller sub and with the lower power handling, you may lose some low end extension.

The best way to see if a sub will work well in IB, check the Qts and try to get one between .5 and .65 and since the SR10 has a Qts of .53, I think it would be fine in IB.

Dont bet on it!!

All that stuff is still Greek to me!

I just do a lot of reading and have always read to look for the .5 - .65 Qts for IB setups.

I can make it sound like Im pretty smart.....just dont ask me what Qts means? :p

Hmmm... so it is possible eh? V E R Y interesting. I can get the Polk at work, not any ID's so the $$ is much easier to afford. ;) So now the question is, relating to my other thread in a way but now altered slightly, how much power? 300w? Xtant 3.1...???

I would use the 6.1 instead.

i wouldnt do more than 500w in an IB set up with the 10s

Nah.

Youre right that IB subs cant handle as much power as enclosed subs and if we were talking about the average teeniebopper that just wants to be the loudest guy in his high school's parking lot Id agree with you but Toxis has been around a while and Im sure he knows how to set a gain so that he's not overdriving anything.

Yeah, gains are meant to be turned as far to the right as possible... you know, to get the most amount of power. Kinda like the crossover. Turn it all teh way up! I want more bass... and higher frequency is more bass. YES! lol

I might have a deal on an Xtant x603 which would give me 75 to the comps (SR's eventually) and 300w @2ohm for the 10". I think this should be fine. I'm going for sound quality with a little umph. I don't want to be over 135db or anything, just something in the high 120's.

More power doesnt necessarily mean louder. It also means better SQ if done right.

Im looking to add some more juice to my sub in the future. 300 watts aint quite cutting it.

find a probox dealer and grab one of their 1-10 or 1-12 dodge quad cab boxes, i wouldnt doubt youd hear a difference in output

Wont be that much. My box now isnt that much smaller than spec.

I think adding an extra 150 or so would be just about right.

Besides, those boxes take up half the underseat area and I need that space for storage and my amps.
