i just git finished installing my sr6500 set and they sound great!! they replaced my morel elate 6 set, and i thought i couldnt get any better. they blow them away in detail and a much smoother tweeter. the midbass is great out of the box so i cant wait for them to break in. im driving them with a carver m-4120 with 120 watts to each side. im waiting for my sub box to get built. i have 3 10w6 jl's in the back.cant wait to hear my new sr124-dvc. im running that with a zapco c2k-3.0x with 600 watts into 2 ohms. i just love these speakers, i cant see it getting better. im going out right now to listen to them, i cant get enough!!:D

I don't think I know Carver made car gear. Color me oblivious...

this is an old school amp from the 90's. the m series were magnetic field amps. very nice amps. mine is 120 watts x 4.

Very nice! Glad to hear you like your SR6500's!

I, too, was oblivious to Carver's activity in the car audio world. Very interesting piece you have.

carver made some of the best amps available in car audio history. just like the home audio stuff he knows what he's doing. i had this amp for years because it performs and does not quit! its old but its hand made quality. if you get a chance to get one, get one! i wont ever sell it.

As MacLeod said, just wait till they break in. The sound quality, particularly in the low range, will improve greatly. When I first installed my SRs I also thought they sounded very good, but I was amazed at the improvement over a period of several weeks. I recommend that you turn all PEQs, Time alignment, or other sound manipulating tools off (if they are on) and listen to the SRs that way for some time. You will be impressed at how well they sound.
