Dual 1218 turntable - how do you get the platter off?

Anybody know? It doesn't just slide off. There must be some kind of release or something. :confused:

It's probably a snap ring on the spindle. Here's the manual for a 1219.

Thank you very much dude! I guess I don't have to take the platter off after all....I was looking for a belt :o I wouldv'e sworn this was a belt drive. It's actually an idler wheel drive. What a dunce :D

You should remove the platter for regular maintenance, i.e., clean and oil the spindle well, clean the ilder and inner platter rim, etc.
