I didn't see anything in the article, but are they still receiving signals from them? Just curious how they know the things are still functioning and didn't smash into something.

Pretty good bang for the buck out of the two Voyagers. About $865 million TOTAL cost since 1972. Not bad.
......and was only 22 miles "off course" (and 1 second off of predicted time) as it sailed past Neptune.

What will really make your head spin is that this thing has been traveling at tens of thousands of miles an hour for over 30 years and its just 9 billion years from earth!!! For comparison, the nearest star is 24 trillion!!!! So travelling at that ass hauling speed, it should arrive at the nearest star in only 80,000 years!!!
Just thinking about those distances makes my brain hurt!
