Wow what a story. I've heard nothing but bad things about jiffy lube mostly what was on the video. I will never go there again. Thanks for the heads up

For stuff like that I recommend Valvoline Instant Oil Change or Express Oil Change cause they do the work while youre standing there watching them. Usually while youre sitting in the car.

I just dont trust the bigger shops where the take your car off and you dont see it again til they bring it back and youre at their mercy if they did the work or not.

I never use those places anyways, but you have to remember they are franchises. A friend of mine owns the local Jiffy lube and I trust him fully, but just don't need his services because of the business I'm in. I wouldn't doubt, at all, if the 5 of 9 that did the scam are owned by the same man/woman and they were instructed to do that crap. Of course they all could be company owned stores, but I highly doubt that they are.

Plus, I wouldn't let a jiffy lube do anything other than a LOF. They are just a bunch of lube jockeys, not certified techs, in most cases, with very little training.

So, I was driving past our local Jiffy Screw one day, and I see a trail of oil leaving their bay door, and traveling the same direction I was going. It didn't take long for me to find the end of the oil trail... and at the end of the trail? No, not a pot of gold, but a stranded and presumably screwed vehicle.

I change my own oil... always have.

When I lived in Louisiana, I changed my own oil. When I first moved to IL, I took my truck to a Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed. The advertised price was something like $15.99/oil change, but they tried charging me close to $60, which I refused to pay. They also kept telling me I needed radiator flushes and all kinds of other crap for my truck. I started going to Valvoline and that's where I continue to go after 3 years. Screw Jiffy Lube.

Jiffy Lube's standard oil is Pennzoil around hear, which was bought out by Quaker State. I wouldn't put that shit in my worst enemy's vehicle.
I use Mobil One, exclusively, in all three vehicles, but if I had no other choice, I'd use Valvoline or Castrol.

I change my own oil and now a preferred customer of Amsoil. I trust no one or very few people to work on my car.
