I preferred the 60s over the 50s when I demo'd them. The 60's sounded fuller to me, with more midrange to my ears.

60's sound better to my ears than the 50's.

If you haven't done so already, audition the RTi series as well. It is a little more money, but the sound quality is double that of the monitor series.

the sound quality is double that of the monitor series.

So where is the specs to prove that. So the LSI is triple the sound quality;) :D

Home theatre, whenever you are looking between to speaker(one better than the other), always try to pick the better for a little more money. I had a choice between monitor 50s (200 a pair) or RTI8s (350 a pair, both prices circuit city accomodation). I chose the m50s to save money but everytime I play music or put in a movie, I wonder how much better it would sound with the rti8s. I want to kick myself in the ass now for not getting the 8s. For me, it was only $150 more:(    . I still didn't get it, I'm a dumbass

So my advise to you is get at least the monitor 60 (or shoot up to the rti8s) cause I guarantee you will do the same thing I did.

For the price m50s sound good but... Theres better out there...

Now don't get your panties in a wad. Of course I don't have specs to prove it. Just my opinion.
