I just bought a pair of the original Polk SDA2's with the
2 tweeters and 3 midrange speakers. I love them but
I'm wondering how they compare to the 2a's and 2b's?
I think the 2a's only had 2 midrange and 1 tweeter.
Why did they make the 2a's with less drivers than the
2's? Does anyone know what years the 2's were made?
What was the layout of the 2b's? Appreciate any
info,
Mike

I am only guessing but I think the SDA 2's were in the 1987-88 era.

Here is a bad photo of the 2B

I saw in your earlier post you don't have the interconnect cable, man you are missing the coolest part of owning the SDA speaker.
It is easy to make the interconnect cord.
Warning, do not use mono amps with the interconnect cord attached.

I talked to the guy who I bought the speakers from and he
does have the cable. He is in the process of moving and
hopefully he will find the cable soon. I can't wait to hear
the sda2's with the cable, they sound great even without
it. I'm using the sda2's in a 5:1 setup as my front speakers.
Polk does still sell the blade type interconnect cable for
$35 so if the guy can't find his cable, I'll buy one from Polk.
