How do these two systems compare?
Would it be worth the extra money to go with the Rti series?
Monitor series system
monitor 40 fronts
monitor 30 rears
cs1 center
Rti series system
rti6 fronts
rti4 rears
csi3 center
The system will be used mainly for videogames then music.
I will use an svs pb10 as the sub for either system.

Yes, it's really not that close. Better sound, better construction, better finish.

I would go with the rti's, the price is not all that much.
rti-6 =350.00 vs M40=300.00
Rti-4=259.00 vs M30=200.00
Csi3=199.99 Vs CSi=199.99
The Monitor series comes out to 699
The Rti series comes out to 808

No question about it. The RTi system will sound substantially different. Better? Thats up to your ears. Get both, one at a time. Put the first system in your room, listen for a week. Return it, get the other one. Compare. I suggest you start with the Monitor series, because once you hear it compared to the RTis, in your own listening area, you won't want to return the RTis.
HOWEVER, for video games mainly - you won't notice as much a diff as with movies and music. (nice sub, btw)

I must agree 100%; this is the same what I did, but for some it may be harder to do than for others.
I actually ended up keeping a pair of Monitors for my small office, but RTi sounded fuller and cleaner to me, and overall, I think RTi is a better value than Monitors.
Also, do a search. There are just SOOO MANY threads here comparing RTi and Monitor speakers, and while most aggree that RTi is better, at the end, YOUR ears and pocket need to deside which is better for you.

yes they are two different sounds and the rti's have a tighter bass to them, to me they just sound better than the monitor series. in the long run you won't be dissapointed if you choose the rti's over the monitors.

I had that same setup with the monitors and was NOT happy with it. Infact, I'm in the middle of swapping up to Lsi's. Thr Monitor line is built with dollar value always in mind. The Rti line is more preformance minded. I would get the Rti's.
