Which sub to keep?

The system is going to be used probably 80% HT / 20% music.

I currently have a Velodyne VBP-1200 (http://www.velodyne.com/velodyne/products/product.aspx?ID=10&sid=715h460j)-- how does that compare to the PSW404? Which one should I keep for the above system?

I'm kind of leaning towards the Velodyne because it is a 12"... but I'm thinking that the Polk would match better with the other speakers.

As you can probably tell, I'm kind of a HT novice -- I've had a HT setup for years, but I really haven't maximized its potential. I've been wanting a new center channel for a while and was studying my options when I found this forum. The information contained here has already helped considerably in figuring out what I wanted to buy. I never thought that I could get the entire thing in one swoop. It's almost 'too good to be true'.

Any help / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Nice! I found some LSi's on Ebay for a damn good price too!

I'd go with the Velo for sure! Don't worry about matching the subs. The Velo should walk all over the Polk in each way possible. You can always audition them side by side and you'll see who comes out the winner for yourself. BTW, you could always use both of them.

By looking at the specs it seem that the Velo will reach slightly lower, however the polk is a little more powerful.

It's really going to depend on your room and your listening habits. I suggest giving both a listen, and stick with the one that sounds best in you system.

Actually now that I think about it. I would probably sell both of them and get an SVS (http://www.svsound.com/index.cfm) or similar.
