Strange wiring idea (think it might work?)

A few weeks agao the LFE output on my avr 5700 went funky, started sending a loud "thud" to my svs every time a signal was changed (switching sources, changing channels and navigating dvd menus). I tried all the things that people on different forums reccomended, nothing worked. So I hooked the svs up using high level inputs. Works great, but I want my mains and my subwoofer delivering the bass. Can anyone see any danger in hooking up the L/R preouts to the L/R inputs on the svs with the speakers hooked up to the 5700 using normal speaker cable?

Sounds OK to me. Email SVS tech support if you're concerned. You didn't ask for comment, but why would you want both your mains and your subs producing the same freqs? Double bass - and only half of it done well.
