Well, in shop there was this POS table, was originally a work table - fairly wore. Well we asked the shop teacher if we could make it into something...
So we sanded the top down with a belt sander... painted it a dark green, with a light green over it to immitate grass --
Then we made mounts on each end of the table. Then we made field goal post out of Oak plywood (one piece) - painted them yellow, they are removable from the mounts on the side for regular playing...
The table itself has an out of bounds line (visual) - it is still only out of bounds if it falls off the table...
There are two endzones, still undecided what we are going to put in the endzones... contemplating Ford and Chevy among others...
The center will say SR or Shop 2007 (SR for school name)
Oh yeah, and there are lines every 3" to represent a 60 yard field (30 yards mid way)...
turning out great... we are enjoying it
If it all turns out good, we are contemplating making another one out of MDF and oak plywood so it would look good. This current one is RAGGED - but the top looks sweet because we rock like that...
We are going to put a clear coat (2 or 3 coats) on the table, then light sand it, reapply then steel wool it so it will be slick as glass - should be alot of fun...
Ill take some pics shortly...
