So we wanted to get our kids a Wii for christmas. We knew that is what we wnated to do for months, but by the time I found out about the pre-orders they were already gone, and I "thought" that they would have an over abundance for the holidays, but I was shocked at the frenzie over it. I thought for sure I would have been able to get my hands on one but man it was just insane here in Tucson.

So I went home with my tail between my legs and thought I may just have to stocking stuffer a "made up" gift certificate for a Wii when we would be able to get our hands on one.

Well I jumped on Ebay just to see what the prices were, and surprisingly it was not totally out of hand compared to the ps3 or last years 360. So I found a Wii that interested me (there where about 1000 with one hour left) Put in my bid for what I was willing to pay max (you don't really want to know that) and I ended up with the Wii, an extra remote and free shipping for 375$. Personally I thought it was a good deal, I paid about 60 dollars more than retail. But I was trying to find another remote (yes a third one), and they are sold out everywhere, Looked on ebay and they are going for about 75 dollars. So I did the math and If I got the Wii for 250, a remote for 75, thats 325 plus I get free shipping....the numbers are getting closer to even in my eyes.

Any ways, now I have one, I am going to hook up the cables and then play it whenever the boys are at school!!

Let me know...ripped..or decent deal?

Decent deal. No more wasted time and gas trying to track one down. Plus, you get to play video games with your happy kids.

Agree with Shelby. What matter is your time and the memory you will cherish with the boys. Njoy!

That's an awesome deal! I sold both the Wiis I had gotten from a preorder line for $500 a piece. You got a real good deal, AFan!

What games are you going to get? I was toying with idea of getting one of these for my cousins.

I managed to score one through Wal-mart online for a measley $250 bucks. It ships today. I was considering selling it, but I think I'm gonna keep it. Looks like fun, and it might be just the thing to get my wife interested in video games.........never mind.

That really isn't that bad at all! Nice purchase, I am glad you didn't spend $500+ on it like some schmos. :D

That's really surprising that you got that much for them. There really isn't a shortage of Wiis you just have to look in the right place. I think because of last years 360 debacle people have created this phantom demand where they think "oh god I might not be able to get one! I don't really need one but what if I can't get one!?" Buy... :D My roommate and I walked into Walmart at midnight the night they were being released and obviously they were sold out but we got rain checks to walk in on friday to pick up two. There should be over 2 million floating around this holiday season.

Anyway that is good news for you too bad for the buyers who didn't do the research.

I sold mine 2 weeks ago on ebay.... good thing I did since price has plummeted since. The sale helped with the preamp that I just bought, so it was certainly for a good cause! :)

Played the Wii at my friends today.. (neighbor actually) and I found it ok.

Just ok.

I dont know what it is, but I didnt think it was as precise as I thought it should be (the controller)... but it has that novelty factor to it, which is cool, but I just dont see how it can ever take the place of a precision controller like that on the PS3, 360, or the good ol' mouse/keyboard combo.

I dont know... maybe they'll utilize it further in future games.

My crappy 2 cents.

My brother and I got a Wii, we got Twilight Princess and Raymond Raving Rabbids. The former is amazing, but prolly meant for longer attention spans seeing as it's a long game, but I'd still say that it's must have. And the latter is a blast, It's has a ton of mini-games from launching cows to shooting rabbits with plungers.

It's great stuff, don't forget Wii Sports comes with the game.

I know I'm enjoying my time with my Wii :D

I'm a couple hours into Zelda and it does rock. I ordered my component cables this weekend from NOA...hopefully they will be here soon and sharpen up the graphics a bit. Had the family over for Thanksgiving and the Wii sports was a HUGE hit. The bowling is a blast...but I got my ass handed to me by every female in the family. I listed the Wii on ebay the next day (jk).

Decent deal. No more wasted time and gas trying to track one down.

I can relate to that! My son and I did the "Sunday release" thing. He was at one store and I was at another. Both stores only had 50 each to sell. He was #51 in line and I was #52 in line, no kidding.

So we started our "Black Friday" thing at 2:30 AM. He was at Toys R Us and I was at Walmart (now that was an adventure). Walmart didn't have any to sell since Sunday and my son ended up 28th in line at Toys R Us when I dropped him off. When the doors opened almost all the people either tried to get shopping cars or went to the back of the store where the electronic section used to be. My son ended 8th in line at the cash register. He got one but, unlike Sunday, they were only selling it "bundled" so he had to buy three games (he was going to them get sooner or later anyway). The cost was $400.00. I've rarely seen him since we brought it home...

Just an FYI...my Wii fell to the infamous fatal error after updating problem. After the first update before getting online to download the old school games, the Wii tries to do an Internet test and basically renders the Wii useless as far as networking is concerned. The games play ok but no network connectivity. I called Nintendo, and they are aware of the problem and shipped me a new Wii next day air. Just wanted to pass this along in case others have the same issue.

Even though I bought a 360 for myself 2 weeks ago, I'm looking to pick up a Wii for my girlfriend this Xmas (I figure, heck, if I'm spending that much money, it might as well be something I can play with too :)). No luck so far, but I hear rumblings that many more units are on the way...gonna try something like Sears or Target, or another non-EB Games type place.

Well I scored the wal mart bundle today, but it came with 8 games:mad: I bought it anyhow. If they don't take the games back,i'll wait and find just a Wii consol and return the whole bundle.

My kids told me last week if Santa brought them a Wii they would take all the other toys off there list.:D
