Well, now that I finally landed myself employment I have decided now is the time to purchase a tv. I have had a nice HT setup for a while now but only have had a craptastic 27" Sansui stereo TV that just is not cutting it anymore.....

So, I am looking for suggestions for TV's under the following circumstances:

Size: 42"
Resolution: 1080p
Type: Plasma or LCD(no clue on the advantages or disadvantages of each, fill me in!)

I would like to stay in the $2500 and under price range.

There is so many to choose from and so many options in each I just don't know where to start. I have been trying to do a little research here:

Thanks in advance,

Mark

KDL-40V2500, LCD.

Search the threads, there has been so much discussions on the difference of technology - pros and cons

Btw, Congrats on the new job!

INMHO, If you are looking for anything 50" and under there is no need for 1080P. Figured I'd try to save you a few bucks...

For the money, I'd look at the new Panny commercial plasma 42PHD9UK.
