whats your opinion on this amp? im thinking of buying one and was wondering about the sound of it. i heard it was built to mimic the sound of the silver seven tube amp. any info is appreciated.

I know the 4.0 is made to sound like the silver seven, I dont think the .5 is. how much you gonna pay for it?

im paying $220 for it. that whole "t" series was designed to sound like the silver seven with the smaller amps just having less power.

love my 4.0, currently using it to power the Carver platinum amazings, with great results. On the warm side, just the way I like it

killerb,
You can never have too much power.:D
You can have bad power and any of that is too much but never too much good power.
That being said, you can't go wrong with $225 for the .5. If you don't like it, should be able to recover your investment.
Let us know how you like it.

I wouldn't waste your money on a Carver that long in the tooth. When it goes, it's gone for all intents and purposes.

Sound wise, nothing wrong with them, I would just look for a 'younger' Carver, if Carver is what you want.
