This email comes from my uncle, who is 40 years old and has been in a wheelchair since 16 due to MS. The following is the text of the email:
"This past Sunday (12-3-06) I enjoyed the most awesome day I think I have
ever experienced in my life! Sometimes it's hard for me to imagine that
it actually took place except for the many pictures and digital video
that I have to remind me of the experience.
Since I've been an adult I've had a fascination and fondness for
Lamborghini sports cars, there is just something about their design and
amazing power that makes me like them so much. Anyone who has been in
my bedroom can't help but notice the giant Lamborghini poster I've had
displayed on my wall for probably over 15 years now.
What took place here on Sunday was basically a belated birthday gift
from my best friend Mark and his wife Suzanne who now live out in
Missoula Montana. Mark and I have been great friends since high school
and his wife and he obviously think the world of me and wanted to do
something extra special to commemorate my 40th birthday that took place
this past August. Leave it to Suzanne to think BIG and outside the
box. I still can't believe how she managed to pull this off but when
she sets her mind to something watch out world!
She decided to try contacting the nearest Lamborghini dealership that
she could locate within a reasonable distance of northeastern
Pennsylvania. She located one in Lodi New Jersey and spoke with the
manager who happens to be Richard Mok and she proceeded to explain to
him my physical circumstances and fondness of Lamborghinis and much to
Suzanne's delight he had a very understanding ear. She told him how
much she and Mark would love to give me an incredible 40th birthday gift
and was hoping he could put something together. Suzanne at the same time
is thinking in the back of her mind, this guy is going to think you're
crazy lady! LOL But thankfully she found the right man for the job and
he told her it might take a little while but he was going to do the best
he could. A few weeks passed and Suzanne decided to call me and let me
know what she had been up to and to make a long story short, we received
a phone call from Richard Mok this past Friday saying he would be
bringing up a couple of Lamborghinis for me to look at on Sunday around
noon! Needless to say I was extremely excited!
Thankfully although the weather was a little chilly, it was a very clear
and sunny day and mild for December. To my amazement, within a few
minutes of noon we had two stunning Lamborghinis and one incredible red
Ferrari parked out in our yard! Unbelievable! I'm told that the
combined value of the three automobiles is approximately three quarters
of a million dollars! Let me tell you, Mr. Mok is "the man"! He
brought four close friends with him and everyone was incredibly nice.
The exact models are a 2006 white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
($230,000), a 2002 red Ferrari 575 Maranello ($230,000), and a 2007
white Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 ($350,000). I felt like I was in
dreamland! The two Lamborghinis arrived in the United States from
Europe this past Friday and he said they are returning to Italy sometime
next week (if my memory serves). They are currently owned by the
factory and are being used as display models but will eventually be
sold. The Ferrari was driven here from Connecticut by its owner, a
delightful woman whose name is Ludmilla (she lives in Manhattan but
keeps the car in Connecticut). She had a slight accent and just loved
telling me all about her car, I was stunned when she told me that on
occasion she has the car shipped over to Europe so that she can take it
to Germany and drive it on the autobahn! Must be nice! LOL Next time
she goes she thinks she will have the car flown over as it saves the
week long delay. Something tells me she's holding her own financially.
I had gathered several friends and family members to be here with me and
enjoy this special event, I mean how many common folk have three
unbelievably awesome cars like THIS parked in their yard? I certainly
never dreamed that I would! While they were here I was graciously
presented with a Lamborghini shirt and cap and Ludmilla gave me an
official Ferrari emblem pin that I will treasure. These people are
something special to take time out of their busy lives to do something
like this for me and I will forever be thankful and thrilled to have had
this experience. Many thanks to Mark and Suzanne also.
I'm currently in the process of having this story run in our local
newspaper. Below is a link to an online photo album containing a few
pictures taken on Sunday. Below that are two links to videos I uploaded
to Google. My nephew Bryan used my digital camera to record them. I
look a little dorky in the pictures as I have a blanket wrapped around
me but it's a LOT easier than trying to struggle getting a jacket on
me. LOL

The second video is of the cars as they were leaving. I'm not sure if
the audio being recompressed during upload will retain the full impact,
but when I listen to the original through my desktop speakers with the
subwoofer you can really feel the power in those engines... even when
they are just idling. I can't imagine what they sound like fully wound
out at 200 plus miles an hour!"
Absolutely amazing! As long as I can remember, my uncle has had posters and models of Lambo's all over his bedroom. I can't imagine how happy he was when he fell asleep that night!
