New to form - Hi all - Help Best Install

A few quick questions to help with my new install.

1. Is Bi wiring really worth the effort?
If so what wire gauge difference should I use between
Low and high end

2. I am using only surround at present (monitor 40's)
Is it worth the investment for surround back?
Can I wire my rear monitor 40's for the surround back?

3. Based on my current set-up which PWS should I invest in (Polk of course).

I bi-wired my fronts using the a & b speaker outs last weekend, and I like the way it sounds. It is not night and day difference, but my hearing is not as good as it used to be. Since I went to the trouble to do it, I will leave it that way. While I am far from an expert, I think you will want to run the same gauge wire to each post (and remove the jumper) since you will really be powering high and low speakers independently.

You would need to get another pair of speakers for rear surround. At the advise of others in the forum, I pulled the wires for them, but in all honesty I only pulled them since I was doing the regular surround wires at the same time. I have noticed that it makes a difference in some scenes, but it has not blown me away yet as a home theater "must do". In time as there is more 7 channel material having the extra wire will make a bigger difference.

You may want to look into an SVS sub. I learned about them on this
forum. I, as well as many other members are EXTREMELY happy with
the performance.

This may be going against the grain but depending on your budget if SVS is out of the question, my velodyne DLSR performs great. Comes with a remote to turn it on/off, adjust the settings, day/night mode, etc. Great subwoofer at about 1/2 to 3/4 the price of an SVS depending on model.
