Finished it up this morning. No more big-ass Sonotube sub sitting in the middle of the theater floor...yeah!

Interior dimensions are 4'x2.0'x.90'. It's built with .75 MDF and braced with several .50 all-thread rods and lined with .50 polyfill and duel ported. Basically, all the same parts from the Sonosub.

I ran a couple movie clips and it feels awesome, much better then the sonosub, due to it's close proximity to the seating I'd imagine. I have not done any calibrating or run any freq sweeps yet but hopefully something I can do within the next week. Nice thing is that because I have it cut off at 40Hz you can't tell that the sub has changed locations in the theater or that it is under the futon.

Next up, a coat of black paint.

Might not be a bad idea. I do have a lot of extra black carpet.

looking good as always Ron.

Thought about you this week, I just returned from Anaheim from a quick meeting with the city. We just got a job with them, so I should be out there more in the coming weeks and months. Maybe we can get together and have a beer.

Without a doubt Russ. Just let me know when you're in town and we'll set something up.

you can upholster it like my wife did, but that might not fly with the upfiring woofer. pics of my upholstered sub are in my system showcase. might not make much of a difference since it will be uder a fouton, but if it is still in sight, it might blend (looks like an extra matress under the fouton or something. would also cover up the metal nubs from the bracing as well.

just an idea.

I might just hang a piece of black fabric off the front bottom edge of the futon to the floor. That would hide everything under there and I would not need to paint or cover the box.

Upfiring woofer under the futon. . . your wife may end up spending more time sitting and watching movies in there than you do :)
