I`m looking at getting a pair of I/C`s for the AH! 4000 CDP, and looking at UpScales website under the AH! stuff, I find a pair of I/C`s that are RCA on one end and Xlr on the other...

Are these balanced cables (true balanced), or just made that way to be able to hook up to a pre that only has XLR (balanced) plugs ?

Whaddaya think ?!

I could be wrong, but I don't think they're truely balanced.

It is technically impossible for them to be truly balanced. They are made for the exact purpose you mention - where one component has only balanced inputs/outputs.

that`s kinda what I thought also...
But I could tap into my balanced inputs and run from pre to amp on a fully balanced channel making it somewhat of a balaced output channel...
