12v trigger question?

My Yamaha RX-V1400 pre/pro has only 1 12v trigger output and I'm running currently my NAD C272 2-channel amp to power it. I also have Adcom GFA-7605 5-channel amp which has 12v trigger input and I want to power it as well.

My question is, is there anyway to connect 2 12v trigger cable into one output. I personally think if I buy 2-way Mini-jack headphone splitter and connect both Mini-jack 12v cables. Is it going to work or not? Also 12v trigger cable and 3.5mm mini-jack audio are same thing or different.

I haven't tried this yet because I don't want to toast my amps!:confused:

There is no way for it to harm your amps. It could harm the Yamaha, but only if the two triggers draw too much current for it's 12v output (very unlikely).

I have my RX-V1500's output split just as you described, powering the 12v trigger on my power center (30MA), and it also powers my amplified FM antenna (20MA), which saves me having to run a wall wart to it. No trouble so far.

you shouldn't have any problems. The draw is MA, either 12V on or 12V off. Now if you tried to run all kinds of stuff off of it, you might run into problems...
