I've decided on a new 40 - KDLXBR2 Sony - LCD TV.

The problem is that my center ch. speaker, the 400i is a monster, about 7 5/8" H. and hardly any stands I've found can handle that 'thick' of a center ch. speaker on the 1st shelf below the TV.(have it on top of my CRT set now)

Anyone interested in a "like new" set of perfectly voiced matched, complete surround set up? All have extra speaker covers, even though the current covers are in perfect condition.(I stocked up while they were still selling the covers for these models)

I'd love to get new one's, but with the new TV,$$ is a little tight.

Should I consider stepping up to a better set of spekers or stick with what I've got (they still sound great to me) But then again, maybe I'm just used to them?

Are the newer speakers really that much better than what I've got??

Assuming I keep what I have, would any of the newer, Polk center channel speakers be voiced matched well enough to go with my current set-up?
(thin enough, it'll fit in the stands that are designed for today's LCD's and plasma's.

Any and all suggestions and answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Brentski

Did the same thing...purchased a Sony XBR32 and am slowly doing my speakers. What are you looking to get out of your speakers? Are you interested in selling pieces or the entire set only?

The 400 is a fine center channel. Stepping up will cost considerably more. You may want to look for an older cs350. It's a little more svelte and blends in nicely with the RT's.
