I have an extra Adcom GFA 555 MK2. My pre amp just quit. I might be willing to trade for a Tube Pre Amp. The amp is in great shape 8/10 all fins are straight no scratches. I am the second owner. I thought I was going to Bi Amp and changed my mind. Another option would be a VMPS Larger One plus I would pay extra cash. All hell you never know what I would consider....suprise me.

Thanks for your consideration,
Steve

UPDATE 12-27-06 : Now willing to sell. Pre Amp is ok...375.00 plus shipping. Will post pictures later if needed.

I was just kidding, besides, I'd still have to compensate you some how for the lack of performance.

I have a Pioneer SX-1250 and SX-1280 if you want to get your old school hi-fi on. 180 wpc on the 1280. Also, if your into some big old speakers, I have some Pioneer HPM-150s that are in good shape and all they need is for the woofer to be refoamed (a job I've been meaning to do).

EDIT: I just tried out the 1280 (or attempted to, everyone is asleep here so I didn't try everything) and it seems it, after just getting back from a repair shop, may not be working properly. I know a lot of people love these things over at audiokarma and if these type of beastly receivers are up your alley, the problem should be easily fixable (or could be fixed depending if I had my settings right).

Thanks ledhed. That is the problem. I dont currently have a working pre amp. It is at the repair shop. I was wanting a fast trade for a pre amp. The shop said 1 more week before they can even look at it...Who knows what may be wrong with it.

May not be what you're looking for but i have a Carver CT-26v ive used on and off as my pre over the past few years. It is solid state. I guess you revised your original post or i didnt notice the tube bit.

In my opinion the Carver has a nice clean sound to it. Also has a built in tuner which may or may not be something you care for. I would say its a solid 7/10 on the audiogon scale, with no working issues. It also has the rack handles. Oh no remote sorry. Just lemme know.

I don't really want to trade but I have a couple tube integrated amps if you're interested. Good luck either way.
