new construction: in-wall speakers

I'm not an audiophile, but am building a new house and just realized that I should make allowance for speakers. I'm running 14 gauge speaker wire in the walls and will want in-wall speakers in the front and in-ceiling in the rear because of the layout of the room. House budget is shot already :-( so I need to keep the cost way down.
Can I use the low-end RC55i for front and RC60i for rear? Thoughts?
What about a subwoofer? Does it need to match the speakers?

Those choices should give you a good setup for general HT. There are some good deals on those on uBid right now. Also, if this is new construction, get the original Polk housing moldings for those speakers for the best sound. They need to be put in before you drywall. Also, do not scrimp on the wire. Use 12 gauge. You can get some great prices on CL3 (in-wall rated) 12 gauge wire at monoprice.
For a sub, if at all possible, look into "infinite baffle". Google the term to understand what it involves.

I already gave the contractor a spool of CL3-14GA for installation. I did get the brackets though, good advice.
I can't use an infinite baffle sub, so need something that I can stick into a corner of the room.

subs don't need to be timbre matched since there isn't any mids or highs coming out sub. Don't sweat the 14ga selection. You'll be fine as long as the runs are under 50ft. Just make sure you run over all your possibilities for TV placement since once the inwalls go in, they stay in. And you will absolutely need a sub with those speakers.
