I was wondering what the input would be as to Downfiring or Rear Firing in a Chevy Tahoe?

It will be two Infinity Perfect 10.1 subs on an Polk 500.1 at two Ohms.

I was wanting to stick with a sealed set-up since I am a rock & Country with some rap thrown in and am not looking for something to impress everyone in the Wal-Mart parking lot by putting my windows down and doing circles like I have no life plus how do you get a thrill when everyone that see's you shakes there head and laughs.:D

My sealed box (Jeep Cherokee) sounded best firing up, but provided the most output firing straight back towards the hatch with similar SQ- less cancellation that way.

For a ported box, Cody's suggestion sounds intriguing...up firing (for SQ) plus ports back (for reinforcement of bass frequencies without undue cancellation).

You'll probably find downfiring the woofers also reinforces the bass response (similar to firing straight back) but may also muddy up the SQ in the process.

Why don't you just trial them all and see which one you like the best.

for sealed, this is the way most SUVs react
