Infinity Perfect 6.1 or polk db6500?

Currently I have a set of infinty perfect 6.1's in my front doors and a set that just arrived of Polk DB6500 for my back doors. I am very limited to what can go in the back since it is very shallow, so I chose the db6500's since they show a perfect fit. The truck is a 98 Chevy Tahoe. I am currently running a Alpine DVA-9860 to the front Infinity's but will be installing a Polk MoMo C400.4 when I install the DB6500's. Now that I set the stage I was wondering what Components should I have up front the DB6500 run off of all four channels of the c400.4 with the pre-eq set with nothing in back or the Perfects in the front with the db6500's in the back with 2 ch front and 2 ch back off of the c400.4.

I heared the Perfect in my brothers Honda run off of a JL Audio 450/4 and thay were very clear but harsh twwets. I am giving them the 18x4 rms head unit power so as of now the tweets are fine but once I put that MoMo on them I am affraid all will change and they will be harsh unless this was the JL making them this way.

I also have a set of the Infinity 10.1 subs that will be put in as well powered off of a Polk MoMo 500.1 mono amp giving then each 250+ watts.

All input is welcome so please let me hear all sides to this set up.

Im not sure. I havent heard the Perfects but Im not much of a fan of Infinity because theyre so bright and thin sounding.

I prefer the more natural sound of the Polks myself.

If you haul a lot of passengers around and having speakers in the back seats is important to you, Id say stick the Polks back there and run them off the rear channels of the 400.4

As Mac said, Infinity is known for bright tweeters, and it seems as though you've already discovered that. What I'd do is return the Infinity's and put a set of db6500's in the front and the back.

Thanks for the input. I was worried I would lack SQ by moving the db6500 in front and taking the Top of the Line Infinity's out but the tweets do get to you but they seem to be very clean and have an awesome Mid-bass.

I have the Polk sr's in another truck of mine run off of the 450/4 (Awesome SQ but a little more then I am wanting to spend for this truck) but wanted something different in this one so my brother gave me a set of Infinity's that he was not using and that is the story on the Perfects and how they came to be in the front doors at this time.

I am hoping that I am not making a mistake by going Pold amps over the JL Slash amps since they seem to be highly talked about.

If I get rid of the Perfects should I go with the MoMo's instead of another set of the db6500's?

I would have done the MoMo's for the rear to begin with instead of the db6500 but I would of had to do some big changes since I do not have the depth for the rear doors for the MoMo''s but I think I might put the MoMo's in the front and the DB6500's in the back run off of the 400.4 with one or two 500.1 on the two Perfect 10.1's.

Should I run the back doors off of the Alpine DVA-9861 or the 400.4?

MOMO in the front and db in the back; sounds like a great setup.

As for amplification, now that's a good question. Using the one C400.4 for both sets seems like the simplest solution, but the MOMO's really need more than that, and the db6500's, imo, should really get more than just deck power.

So now we're looking at maybe two C400.4, one for the front and one for the rear, biamping both sets. Or maybe two C300.2's; that'd be enough juice. Or maybe a C400.4 up front for more flexibility tuning the MOMO's and a C300.2 out back for the db's.

Or maybe something like a 6-channel Kicker amp.

Lots of choices, all of which just keep increasing the price! :D
