I picked up some 2.3TL this summer. Over the past 6months I have gone from a Yamaha integrated amp, to a seperate NAD 2200, to a biamp config between the 2200 and a NAD753 receiver. Every step has been an improvement. I never even owned a seperate before this summer, so I am pretty naive about what would be a good next step. I don't have any stereophile acquaintances to get exposure to other equipment, either.

What is the NEXT logical step for me to get the most out of these. Buying a couple of HALOs isn't in my budget, either. So, if something in that price range is the next level for me I'll be sticking with this for a while. I'm not unhappy, just wondering where to go from here, if I go anywhere.

From what i have gathered, and in my personal opinion would be to go with either replacing the tweeters with the new silk replacements if they havent been updated yet. Or go with a new preamp rather than running them off the reciever as a pre. I prefer tubes in that regard if they are going to be used for music, specially with that Nad ss amp.

Also depending on the ic's and speaker cables you could probably get more detail, bass extension, smoother mids etc. And stay in a nice cost vs perfomance bracket by going that route.

Dave gives good advice...I think my next step is to rebuild the stock crossovers and upgrade to the Silk Tweeters.

The 2.3TL's are an exceptional speaker, they can only get better with a few mods.

Your next step is to buy some good music, fix a glass of your favorite beverage and get your listen on.
