Hey guys, I am thinking about buying the ELP and have a question. Since it has only 2 inputs, is there any way to hook this up with my receiver or an external processor? I could really use the video inputs and digital audio inputs for my other devices. Thanks

Ah, I don't believe this ELP has the ht bypass. So, I'll just have to switch interconnects between the ELP for music and the receiver for my everything else. Does this sound right? or is there an easier way?

yes you can do that but you will be altering the sonics of the ELP a bad thing the ELP was made to stand on its own.
Look at a way to keep the signal paths seperate. Say run digital from the sony to the receiver for ht and analog to the Dodd for your sacd/cd. You may have to get another amp. You could send the ELP back to Gary Dodd and have him put the HT pass on it, which will make for a much cleaner better install if you want one rig to do both ht and 2-channel.

Thanks Reeltrouble, I think that's what I am going to do (digital to receiver and analog to ELP). I emailed Gary yesterday about the bypass, so I'll wait and see what he says. I certainly do not want to alter the sound of the ELP. I have wanted to try one of these out for awhile to see what it can do. This will be my first venture into the tube world, from what I've heard from others rigs I like the sound, however I have not yet listened to tubes in depth.

You can also find the spot of the volume knob that results in zero gain and mark it with some tape. Not the best solution, but it works.
