recever cuting out

i have this old sony i use as a amp it is a older pro lofic and all it has is pro logic and it was befor they gave all chanels the same power the mains have 100wpc and all the rest have 25wpc
it is overheating i think with sends it into protecton it is about 8 years old any one know what i can do to fix the problem?

You might be running it with speaker's with a low Impedence like 4 ohms.
You could not be properly venting the unit...heat kills.
It could just be on it's way out,electroincs don't last forever.

You could have given it a dust fur coat...meraning it's clogged with dust.

Many many things my man..take it to your local repair shop if you want to keep it.
Or better yeat put it to the curb and look into a newer unit.

it drives the fx 500i i think it is getting old i might crack the case and try and fix it but i hate fixing things with out schimatics
