QUAD SOUND: two receiver to two front speakers

I like the dolby prologic II-music style, and I want the same sound front and back...Now all the systems sends different sound on 5 or 6 channels to every ch. but I want the stereo sound on dolby and sub. Is a good idea for that run with two identical receiver and four identical loudspeakers (2 fronts and 2 back with 2 sw, one front and one back)? I want a quad sound. tHE SAME remote control help me to drive the system.

Two Rti8 Fronts and ONE Sw 505 WITH Marantz Sr5400 on Stereo Mode.

Another two Rti8 and another SW 505 with another Marantz sr5600 on Stereo Mode behind me....

I want 4 speaker with exactly same sound.

Is good idea?

So you want to be surrounded by sound, and to do that you have 2 identical receivers with 2 identical pair of speakers arranged pointing directly at you similar to a 4 channel hometheater setup with 2 channels in front of you listening position, 2 in back, both set to dolby pro logic 2. The advantage of using identical receivers is that you can adjust the volume on both receivers using one remote control.

I don't know what the heck quad sound is, but you're going to have essentially no sound stage to speak of, and the mix down from 5 channels will probably leave you wanting.

What I would do is use an amplifier with 2 sets of speaker outs (A+B) and just select both sets when you want "quad sound". You'll only need one remote and one receiver to do what you want it to do.

BUT yes, I was thinking that (the A/B speakers BUT the AVR Marantz than I Have no have that. On a HK3840 stereo receiver is there the A/B speaker BUT isn´t the Dolby Prologic II that I want. After all, the A/B speakers option is less power to every one speaker and not is the same with two receiver to every pair of speakers. I mean All the power from a receiver only for two speakers.

Theoreticaly you could do it your way , but what a pain in the butt..!!
Try it and see what you think but there are easier ways to accomplish what your looking for...

Quad sound was a fromat from the 70's where on the receiver they had what one today could call a "joy stick" type knob and you could move that knob in 4 directions and isolate the drums, vocals, guitar, horns etc. with special quadraphonic recordings. Running 4 speakers with today's equipment is not traditional Quad.

I have no idea why you would want to do this, but it's your dime and your listening environment. My .02c is that it's a big waste of money, but it's not my money ;)

The same effect can be done with one receiver...........it is called 5/7 channel stereo. Some like it, some don't. It does give a constant signal from each speaker which gives the impression of more sound all the time. Most other Dolby/DTS/Logic/DSP modes limit the use of surround chanels and most of the sound still comes from the front soundstage. 5/7 channel stereo spreads the sound around.

I think what you are desiring is 4 channel stereo with the same signal in the left channel (front and rear) and the right channel (front and rear). Some HT receivers will do this for you. It's called 4 channel or six channel stereo depending on the receiver. A surprising number of folks will play stereo music in their HT systems (music out of all the speakers.

schwarcw: Yes, I want a 4.2 stereo (or multichannel stereo) and yes is there some receivers (like Marantz) with this option BUT the sound is less sound than only 2.1 stereo because are more speakers. and NOT IS DOLBY. Is for that than I want two receivers. I want a speaker in every corner of my room with the same sound.:o

you need to do what D. Garner said and y-cable out for two subs. It may be called all channel stereo or something like that on the receiver.

Why not use a PLII pre/pro and two amps? Then you can choose Stereo or Quad and turn up all the speakers at the same time to the same levels.

That's not 'quad' in the traditional sense.....google it and there is plenty of reading on what 70's Quad sound was. If you want to dick with real quad, a Dynaco quadaptor or a Fosgate unit (forget the model #'s) are all you need. I have the Dynaco and it works well for ambient noise. I've heard the Fosgate is better but haven't heard it.

A decent amp with A/B or a speaker selector would get you where you want to be.

Quadraphonic is a recording method, and it's not what you're thinking of. You're not going to like what you want to do. I tried it a LONG time ago. Doesn't work.

Use what I said above.....one receiver.It takes one set of speakers and will make 4.Then get a y adapter and split the signal for your sub so you can run your 2 subs.ONLY USE ONE RECEIVER.Haven't heard the word Quad in 30 yrs.Brings back memory's of the old 8-track.

I used to be a big fan of 2 sets of speakers playing in stereo (one in front, one in back). what your describing has nothing to do with dolby pro logic II. Some pre/pros have 5 channel stereo, which kind of does what your saying, just with a center channel. either way, I would not go in this direction. I've done it, and liked my wounds from the wasted effort.

its good for parties and stuff, where you just want the music all ver the place, but not good for proper imaging and accuracy and whatnot.

Forget "quad" is only 4 speaker in Dolby PLII Sound 2.1 (fronts and back).
