This is not to just gauge interest here, if anyone has any suggestions on where to sell this, that would be great.

My dad has some old (read 70's) Pioneer stuff he wants sold.

He has an SX-1280 receiver - does not output audio at all, a relay inside will click and there is an audible pop from the speakers. Technician claims power transformer is faulty.

SX-1250 receiver - should play fine, will test if there is any interest. Was taken to shop and cleaned up, bulbs replaced.

HPM-150 speakers. Perfect condition except they need a refoam job.

All of this is TOTL Pioneer and if all was in perfect order, would sell for over 1K (judging by individual eBay auctions)

If anyone here is interested let me know, I'll get a price. If not, all this will go on audiokarma and hopefully it will sell there.

Thanks for looking.

Also, I have an equalizer and tape deck if that adds any interest:rolleyes:

I'd ebay it, a lot of people like vintage pioneer gear, and you'll probably have some buy the broken integrated there as well.

Sorry, I am at college, gear is at home. I will have pics if I turn this into FS. The 1250 is rougher than the 1280 but still probably a 7/10 due to age and dust. also, the 1250 needs cleaning, it emits a "rough" sound when certain buttons are enabled, evident that it needs it contacts cleaned.

Be honest in your descriptions, and take it to e-prey. That stuff is quite sought after and you'd be surprised the amount of money certain people will pay. The HPM's included. Of course, the HPM's may have to be listed as "local pick-up only", but I think (no, I KNOW) that people will drive a couple hundred miles for those. Re-foam and everything. BE HONEST IN YOUR DESCRIPTIONS! Post exactly what you posted here.

You may or may not be warmly received at AK. Are you a member in good standing there already?

Well I was until today, I posted a simple question about selling things there, the question was misunderstood, and to make a long story short, the thread was shut down.

I don't know you.

The guys at AK are as protective of their site as the Polkies are of theirs. There are very strict rules about where you can post things for sale, and the slightest hint of phishing for PM type bids and stuff like that will result in what you experienced. They have good reason for that. Sorry to hear about your bad fortune.

Which forum and what was the title of your post?

I put it in Dollars and Sense in order to see if i could sell a lot under one classified or if I needed to buy multiple classifieds and link between them in order to sell as a lot. I asked it because it says one piece of gear per sale. Tentoze thought either I was trying to sell my stuff under that thread, or that I was trying to get out of paying the classified fee. He was the only real problem.

Grumpy PM'd me and told me how selling a lot could be done. It's all ok now (I hope)

So what are you going to ask for those pieces? Any idea? I like older gear no matter what the brand.

Ok, I will make a new thread regarding price later after some details are worked out. (A few people had PM'd informal "dibs" if I decided to sale so I am waiting on their final responses)

As I recall, several people called you out, but I'll be happy taking all the burden. You admitted to not wanting to pay $10 to post individual ads. How else should that be interpreted?

BTW, I wish you all the best in selling whatever it is you're selling wherever you sell it.

That certainly explains that. Where you transmitting from this week Stretch? Never mind, I just saw the text with the nice photos at the other place.

Tentoze,
I have no negative feelings towards any of it, my post was just misunderstood - part of which may have been due to the way I put the question. I just hate that due to the misunderstanding, my reputation could be tarnished at the forum and people may believe I'm too much of a prick to want to pay in order to properly use the forum which is entirely not true. Also, I am sorry I associated you with it, it seemed at the time that you were the one who held the most animosity but I understand the need to protect your forum.

As for all of the gear and the purpose of this thread, I talked to my dad last night and he is having some reservations selling the stuff *again*  As soon as he makes up his mind and I get some pictures I can post, I will make a FS thread. Sorry for the delay for those interested.

Edited for clarification purposes

Well, dad decided he wants to sell locally ONLY and already found a guy that is coming to look at it. Thanks for the little bit of interest.

It has taken over a year for him to finally commit to selling it. He asks me to sell it then, after I receive interest from several people decides to only sell locally! Maybe it's just the old-age senility kicking in he is almost 50 after all ;)

Do you still want to sell the HPM 150 speakers?
