I am completing my LSi surround system including the LSi25 and would like to know if the Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi is a good match. (It doesn't show any power into 4-ohm but into 8-ohm it's 140 by 7.1)

Welcome to the club ...
If the owners ( Pioneer ) manual doesn't say anything about 4 ohm speakers then you may drive it into protection ... I'd check with the manufacturer directly to see what they have to say ... In the long run I would think you'd want something with a little more beef behind it to drive a 5.1 / 7.1 LSi system.

Not the way to go! As Polk says do some more homework! LSI are going to need a nice amp - check out Aragon (5 and 7 channel amps - can be had used at a nice price)! Onkyo receivers (certain models) work well with 4-ohms. However a receiver alone will only drive some much power and eventually shut down with the LSIs!
Denon is not even well suited for 4-ohms! I have called their customer service many times to discuss this issue!

I'm seting up a new system and kinda have some of the same questions but this forum stuff is new to me. I'm having a little trouble navigating through it. I'd like a couple of opinions on my set up. I just purchased the Pioneer VSX1016TXV-k. 120watts by 7.1 I have ordered two Polk RTi12 speakers )for front) and own a Polk cs400i center channel speaker. I also have four Polk Monitor 40 series speakers and a 10" Sony 100 watt powered sub-woofer to round it all off. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Ilaun welcome to CP!
You have a great system there with LSI speakers. However, as you noted there is no mention of your Pioneer being able to drive 4ohm speakers. Most receivers are not able to do so.
If your Pioneer has preouts, you would get great benefits out of buying a separate a 5-7 channel separate amplifier of at least 200wpc.
Check out Outlaw Audio for good bang for the buck amps, or if you don't mind going used check out Audiogon.

Thank you to all.
I might either go with separate from Outlaws because of price, or the suggestion of adding an amp. to that Pioneer because I really like all it offers.

For the 12's I would get a separate amp. Either a stereo amp (2 channel) or two - one channel amps. (outlaw sells them). Your AVR should be fine with the rest of the load.
I would rethink your sub idea. You are building a heck of a surround sound system and your sub will by far be the weak link in your system. There are alot of good brands out there for subs - Sony is not one of them. (at least not at the level the rest of your speakers are)
What size is the room you are trying to fill with sound and we can try and offer suggestions.
(you might want to start a new thread in the speaker or subwoofer section and you will get alot more people seeing your issue. (rather than have it tucked in the middle of another thread where it will most likely not be seen)
